  Upcoming Greenberg shows.

I just got off the phone with Kathy Knicely (and yes she is very nice). It was in regard to the next two shows. She had sent me an E-mail that included the following... (...) This is good news as the 10x20 is an increase in our overall space. Our (...) (22 years ago, 30-Aug-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) I've created an intitial design for your viewing pleasure. (URL) also moved the image of the previous layout. Sorry about that. Here is the link. (URL) (22 years ago, 31-Aug-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) viewability may become really difficult, especially with multiple quick iterations. Would it be possible for you to deep-link to the images themselves - that is, provide the link to the actual file on Brickshelf. Galleries and folders are not (...)   Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) I actually hadn't realized that there was a direct URL address to the images. I was assuming that everything was display with just a cgi scipt. And I was being lazy by just coping the address shown. Any how here are the links directly. The (...) (22 years ago, 31-Aug-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

(...) didn't include as much detail in Terms of MOC's) Small Image (URL) Image (URL) are parts of both I like and parts of both that I think need work. I like the lowered section on the side in Jonathans where it is still on an end in my version. I (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

In lugnet.org.us.nelug, Eric Kingsley writes: <snip> (...) My design in a little desceptive when it comes to siding. I tend to spread it around the layout so I don't have many long sidings. I also make my loop connections a little longer than normal (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

Well now you have a choice of layouts. I just created two more designs in addition to the first: (URL) there are spec sheets for two of these layouts: (URL) first design works well with the existing MOCs and has some better design features to it. I (...) (22 years ago, 2-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

I really hate responding to my own posts. Makes me feel like I'm talking to myself. :-) Well I think I fixed all the problems I had with my initial design in this new revision: (URL) just need Tom and Eric to approve the changes to their models. (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) Well in this case I don't know if being outside the box helps. That open section on the outside just seems problematic to me. We could rope it off but I still don't know if I like it or not. As for the small third loop I would just do away (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) Here is my second try. This one keeps both Tom and my MOC's in tact, has decent (although not great) siding space. It has 3 loops but can easily run as 2 loops if desired. The outer loop is still pretty friendly to Shaun's 8 wides. I don't (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

I like this one the best. I think it spreads everything out a bit more, so that one end isnt overcrowded while the other is bare. Plus It's a minimum of tile moving for me! What is the status of the gorge? I know Chris was going to redesign it. Has (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) Those were 2 of my goals actually. There are some areas for improvement though. I have 2 areas where curved track goes over a road plate (one of our unwriten no-no's). Also when I thought about it, The roads going through the amusement park (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) OK Here is my try number 3. (URL) are the highlights. 1. I have used a Model Railroading convention here. The roads don't have to connect on the layout, you just imagine that they connect somewhere off the layout. This gives us more room to (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

I really like this layout. I also don't have an issue with larger fair grounds :) One thing I wanted to throw out there to see if people are still interested in doing it, is the idea of a subway. Like La Gorge, this would be a sunken table, BUT it (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) I agree. I like the openness and the fact that there is 112 sections of siding track. I don't think I can compete with that, but I'll try. :-) The only real issue I have is that the third loop is a little small. Will we actually be able to run (...)   Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) Well here is another design and I'll be working on a variant of this one tonight. (URL) design is more rectangular, but still isn't a large box. Plus the roads all connect. Highlights: - Tom's layout is virtually extact to the way he his it (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) Granted it can't be a long train but we could have a small "branch line" train running on it with 5-7 cars. This loop actually isn't much shorter than the inner loop of our first layout. (...) I do understand people like to connect roads but (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) I agree that if done right it would be really cool. Plus it would add yet another running train. I think your concern over visibility is valid though. One nice thing is we now have plenty of sewer/subway rats thanks to Harry Potter to add (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) First we loose one entire table with this design. I would really like to maximize our space as much as possible. Second, as you point out, there is a lack of siding space in general. Third, and least important, is there isn't the option of two (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) I agree that we should maximize our space as much as possible, but I'm not sure that adding an extra table will do that. If I add an extra table then I have to put an extra hole in the middle of the layout. The hole then becomes constricting (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) OK this is my try #4 and possibly my last try until we talk about it more at a meeting. This is actually nearly the same as #3 in terms of MOC location but I made some modifications to the sidings. (URL) is the parts list. (URL) havn't been to (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

(...) I inadvertently included a reversing loop. It won't affect any MOC's but I will need to move or eliminate one or two switches. No big deal but I didn't want anyone calling me on it before I owned up to my boo-boo. Eric (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  Re: Upcoming Greenberg shows.

Well I think I finally came up with a layout that maximizes our space. (URL) listed below all of the design desecions that I used in this layout. Do to the fact that I am very anal with these types of designs the list is quite long, but very well (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)
