I never imagined this thing will be ended up such a deep thread..:-)May I call
my first Lego fame?..:-D
Mike, I think you won't bother with my messages after the first "...please
don't" message, but I need to speak some more.
I can get the point in your "everyone's something guy" words very well.
Actually, I'm an "everyone's computer guy" since my universty years, and even
now many friends from here or there calling me about their problems with
computers. Actually I like helping them, since they are my friends and the
payment as "Ok Selçuk, thanks for doing this" just enough for me considering
these people. Actually, our matter is not that, since we are not "friends" yet,
and helping to a guy without any relationship between, is a personal choice,
though I prefer to help if I could.
Actually the main problem (from my point of view) that started this thread is
"prejudgment" (if there is a word in English like that..:-).
Here is a newsgroup, and it seems that you are much more experienced in usenet
talking, and of course about computers as my experience is based on a hobby, but
yours is based on your job.
As being only two usenet user, we don't know eachother much, we don't have any
idea about our social/cultural conditions, we don't know our way of life, we
don't know our background, and this goes on like that. I think in this kind of
conversation groups using a calmer way of speaking that contains as less
prejudged statements as possible is a "should".
You thougt that I!m just an ignorant computer abuser, and not being one, I
simply flamed you. Yours was not my way of answering help requests and simply I
didn't like being considered as an abuser while (IMHO) I'm not one. I should
also behave calmer, but not creating causes is also should be considered
seriously.
Again, I'm sorry about offending you, and also thanks for the all info that you
supplied. They all are usefull, only the way of describing them was somehow not
as I get used to hear..:-)
You have been already here for a long time, and I want to be here for a long
time too, so I hope we both involved in many nice conversations/discussions in
the near and far future.
Best regards,
Selçuk

| (...) Just want to reiterate that this thread (for me anyway) stopped being about anyone using Lugnet, posting o RTL, etc, long ago. Nothing I've said in days has anything to do with anyone people here would know, other than me. :) (...) No offense (...) (26 years ago, 28-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Well, if it were something like helping me replace a tail light I could see that, but I didn't really just mean a one time or rare ocurrance (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
