Thanks for your help, but if you like talking this much after a
help...please simply don't help next time.

I waste a lot of my time every day "helping" people who haven't taken the
time to fiddle with the programs their having problems with.  You'll have to
forgive me if I say that after spending 7 seconds to find the answer to your
question it seemed like you hadn't spent a lot of time with it either.

Hey there Mike,

Note that Selçuk said in his first message that he had searched the online
help of Outlook Express and it had no clue about "following-up."  Online
help is a natural place for users to look.

Keep in mind that the error message Selçuk saw is an *extremely* odd message
to come from an NNTP server.

I think any sort of question about it is both relevant and fair.  I'm
sitting here thinking I sure can't assume and expect everyone to have found,
read, and understood the announcement about the recent change.  And maybe
the announcement was unclear anyway.  Or maybe it was clear, but only old-
hats to netnews really grok Followup-To since they've had the opportunity to
see it first-hand.

Finally, note that the message Selçuk got from the server didn't say
anything about the Followup-To field.  What it said is (looking this up in
the code):

"Posts to lugnet.announce must follow-up to another group."

Hyphen's in a different place.

(...) Todd, have you considered something like one of lugnet.help lugnet.admin.help lugnet.tech-help lugnet.tech.help (if you can think of any other lugnet.tech groups)) It seems like help with lugnet itself isn't clearly off-topic, exactly...
