Aye, you both make good points.  But the thing about this is that it's not
Legoland, it's Star Wars land.  This is the first time (I believe) that Lego
has tackled something like this.  They're making Lego figs of REAL people.  I
think that they should at least TRY to be accurate.  A yellow Han Solo is
accurate because yellow is widely accepted as a color for "white lego people,"
as well as asian or some other decent.  But yellow is not accurate for a black
guy.

I think the main problem with this argument is "white lego people". Even if
Lego people do seem to be living in a totalitarian nightmare of uniformity
(look at the number of cops they need), yellow is the colour of all lego
humans (whether or not they resemble any person, real or imagined, living or
dead). Chewbacca, JarJar, C-3PO and (fingers crossed) Yoda are not humans --
they don't need to be yellow. Luke, Han, Leia and (fingers crossed) Lando are
humans -- they should be yellow.

Any thoughts on where Vader fits into this? Or are there special rules for the
decrepit (cf skeletons)?

And I don't say black in a derogatory sense; I just hate repeating
African-American over and over.  That's politically correct, and as many of
you know, I'm not.  So, I say that TLC should look at this from two views.  1)
We need to be accurate to the Star Wars line, since it IS based on real
people.  2) We need to keep a non-ethnic and non-racial "happy medium" in the
system sets.  Now it is just a question of choosing the "lesser of two
evils."

Number (2) please -- though some people will doubtless consider this to be a
racist "yellow-wash" of Lando's ethnicity (an ironic position considering the
rationale?).

And, like Shiri, I question why they don't have convictions for using
non-yellow heads in Scala and Belville and such.

Has anyone ever challenged Lego on this?
