Ah, but a point you are missing is that when someone in here was on the
phone with WB right around the same time as many of us were ordering, and
they said they were out of the clearance stuff on the website, but had them
in their CATALOG sales at regular price, and in stock.  That person got WB
to send them from Catalog sales to them at the Web clearance price.

WTF is that all about?  If they have them in their warehouse, they should
fill the orders, SCREW whether or not those were earmarked for catalog
sales or not.

I'm going to be flaming them heavily tomorrow, if I find out I can still
order them through Catalog sales.

Hey! Here's a neat idea!

Why don't they *just sell the stuff they own*

Well, come on.  Really.  Do you think every single place you order
from is located in a giant warehouse with acres of merchandise sitting
there, just ready to go out?

The reality is places start clearing stuff out, and maybe through a
glitch, or heck, maybe through something like a distributor error or
miscalculation or whatever, find out that unlike most of the rest of
the time, when they submit orders that such and such be shipped from
some distributor warehouse to you, the distributor can't fulfill it,
either in a timely manner or at all.  It happens, and the more you buy
online, the more you'll have to deal with it.

Doesn't make it pleasant to deal with, but something that _works_ 99%
of the time is still not working that 1%.  And nothing works 100% of
the time.

If I offered to sell 10 8855s, took the orders, and then said, "Oh,
sorry, I haven't got ten.' I would get flamed to a crisp.

Right.  But you're not selling to potentially tens of thousands or
more people - you're pulling something out of your closet.

Does anyone have the WB catalog phone number? and product number of the 4561. I'd like to see if they have it in stock. Thanks Jim (...) (25 years ago, 26-Jan-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
