The plot thickens. If you look closely at the picture of the 1200 piece tub for $9.99, it says 'Basic'. The one for $19.99 says 'System'. 4229 was packaged in the vlue pack that was available at Kmart around christmas time. It contains 812 pieces and is not as good of a mix as the tubs are if you ask me. Hey Richard, It's possible that the quantity has something to do with it. Perhaps even they can't believe that they screwed up 18 out of 25 heads. My brother checked out one of the local Ames stores today, and noticed that they had a sign up explaining the sale. It's apparently not like the normal buy one, get one 1/2 price sale, but rather a "Buy 2 get the second one half price" sale. The (...) My Kmarts were decently stocked, for a kmart. I got some of the Star Wars Tie Fighters and Droid Escapes. They seemed to have the LOM sets as well. My old credit union would double hold for large purchases. After each great LEGO sale we would have to live off of cash for a few days until the hold was cleared. (Ah the joys of college life.) Seems if you use a debit card, paypal will tie up twice your purchase amount in your checking account for several days, causing bounced checks.
