My old credit union would double hold for large purchases. After each great
LEGO sale we would have to live off of cash for a few days until the hold
was cleared. (Ah the joys of college life.)
'Tis not as bad as our new credit union. Anytime their authorization system
is busy they just decline the transaction - no matter how large or small -
which happens once or twice a week and is obviously embarrasing. They also
say this is how it is "supposed" to work.
Needless to say once we get our house closed we'll be shuffling accounts
around again.
