Has anyone thought of, attempted or suceeded in putting scanned instructions
onto a CD ROM? I would be very interested if someone has done it? also whether
its reasonably easy and of reasonable cost. I am very interested in gathering
together a number of scanned instructions to complement the paper ones I have.

I welcome any response so if you think you might be able to do it, I am
willing to fund/part fund help as far as I can to get this up and running. (if
its not been done already?) - Perhaps someone can suggest a source where I
could get this done?

Regards,

Jason

(...) I remember back when kl.net was just barely under 650 megs - I burned it onto a CD. Haven't grabbed the whole thing in a long while, though, so I bet it's at least 2 cds worth or more now. I wouldn't think of selling the CDs, though. Probably (...) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

A friend of mine in France sells a 3 CD set of instructions scans. The price is kind of steep. Do you have a CDR? -- Have fun! John AUCTION Page (More soon!) I use CD-R and CD-RW quite often to take instructions home... (that way my employer pays for the download). I'm always left think that one cannot beat the real thing, or printed scans for that matter. I suppose separate CD's of each LEGO genre or (...) The LUGNet set search would be a much much better CD to have. The amount of times I connect to the web to access this is scary... having it on CD would suit me much better. -- Scott A Edinburgh, Scotland. (URL) (25 years ago, 17-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

The entire site is currently 4.5GB, including zips which make up half the space, and catalogs. So, if you wanted to put just the scans (no zip files)on cd, you would need 4-5 cd's, depending on how you divided it up. Of course, while making cd-r's (...) (...) I have now downloaded around 80% of Brickshelf's instruction scans and am getting ready to burn some CDs. Has anyone else done this yet? I'm wondering about the best division of files between the CDs and how to handle future additions. Also, (...) (25 years ago, 28-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
