Kevin Loch [kloch@NOSPMkl.net]

Kevin,

Tanks for your reply,

i) I was not/am not proposing to sell CD's, I am only trying to get the info
for myself. All I was doing is testing the market to see if anyone had such
a CD and would sell, me one? Or I was/am willing to pay them for one.

ii) I an new to lugnet etc and computing, so am not up onn the technicality
or feasibility of such projects.

iii) Your service/site is excellent, and I commend your hard work and that
of the others. Is there any plans to add any more to it, I would'nt mind
spending time scanning instructions from my collection (list of over 140
availible if you want it) and then sending the files over?

iv) Given all this do you have access to a CD writer and if so would you be
willing to copy all/some inst booklets across.

Jason

PS I got a reply from Larry P which is so technical I just don't understand
it

The entire site is currently 4.5GB, including zips which make
up half the space, and catalogs.  So, if you wanted to put just the
scans (no zip files)on cd, you would need 4-5 cd's, depending on how
you divided it up.

Of course, while making cd-r's for your own use should be ok, I strongly
discourage selling of CD's, as that is clearly outside of "fair use",
and exposes you to legal action.

Has anyone thought of, attempted or suceeded in putting scanned instructions

I welcome any response so if you think you might be able to do it, I am
willing to fund/part fund help as far as I can to get this up and running. • (if
its not been done already?) - Perhaps someone can suggest a source where I
could get this done?

Jason

(...) What part? I can elaborate if you think it would help. net net is that the LUGNET Pause DB would be hard to put on a CD because it's more than just raw data. The pages you see are made on the fly and you'd lose all that. (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
