This is a major coup, as this will be a well attended convention. WTG to the GMLTC for setting this up. Lots of planning to do to pull this off. Drats! Foiled again! I went out to Kohl's at Penn and 494 and found *no* SW sets:-( I did find 3 completely bare shelves! Paul Foster had a very very impressive line up of fire apparatus, Ricky brought his supercustomized 5571 and trailer (and I made his day by sliding him an extra 8 (...) Can someone post some more specific directions than these? I'm not from around here and I can't make sense of these, or of the map, they assume too much shared context (like which direction is north, where downtown is, etc.). Assume I'm starting out (...) As promised, my report: As I was running errands this morning, I personally checked out three Targets and TRU Bloomington. Targets Richfield, Edina, and St. Louis had *no* SW sets, as did not TRU. Sadly (or maybe not so sadly) I will be in Florida during our first mini Legofest.[1] I propose, however, a monthly or bi-monthly meeting to get together. Hi All, A couple shows ago we had a 60+ car train with two front puller engines and a pusher engine at the tail. We had to be a bit careful not to "pop a knuckle" (that makes me smile to say that) but with that kind of load the engines had a real (...) John is more modest than he needs to be. The lift bridge is operational, just not for extended periods. :) It is a very graceful lift with LEGO motors basically crawling up the towers. What's needed are two relatively simple transition modules since GMLTC and PNLTC modules are built to different standards. Then, connect the (...) Now that's an idea! The GMLTC layout would fit very nicely in the middle of a PNLTC display. Actually, probably best not a good idea since the crowd may run our layout over trying to get a good look at the masterful creation GMLTC has created. I (...) A fantastic time was had by all, especially me. I was particularly impressed with the layout's ease of set-up and break-down-- each in about an hour!
