New stuff on LEGO.com: Mindstorms redesign, Build updates Tomas Clark
I'm pleased to announce two new developments on LEGO.com: the redesign of the LEGO Mindstorms website, and the latest "edition" of Build. LEGO Mindstorms (URL) Mindstorms has a whole new look which should make it easier to find information about (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.announce) !!

Re: New stuff on LEGO.com: Mindstorms redesign, Build updates —Jake McKee
(...) And let me say, if you don't normally play the games on LEGO.com, this is the one to make you start. I have cursed Tomas, et. al for creating this HIGHLY addicting game more than once! Much fun for kids of ALL ages. "Hi, my name is Jake, and I (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: New stuff on LEGO.com: Mindstorms redesign, Build updates —Matthew Gerber
(...) I gotta' agree with Jake here, Tomas...HOW DARE YOU! You took up a WHOLE lot of my afternoon today when I stumbled across Junkbot. And I only got to the fourth building...Oh well, back to the trash-eatin'! Matt "Junkbot Addict #2" Gerber (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Questions from a tired Junkbot Addict (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Matthew Gerber
Well, it's been 5 hours since I last posted ...I finally completed all of the Junkbot levels, with a score of 1093. Now, shouldn't I be ranked #23 on the Hall of Fame? 'Cause I'm not. Did I miss something in the way of rules? I assumed this game was (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: New stuff on LEGO.com: Mindstorms redesign, Build updates —Tim Courtney
"Tomas Clark" <tomas.clark@america.lego.com> wrote in message (...) Hey...quick question. Are Redini and the Great Beyondo ever going to get together for a 'head-to-head?' ;-) -Tim (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: New stuff on LEGO.com: Mindstorms redesign, Build updates —Christopher Cooke
Tomas As the new Lego Mindstorms site has launched, when can we expect to see the old content "converted" to the new content? I have been looking for the scout SDK and it is to be found nowhere. I know the SDK is rather old, but many of the members (...) (23 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: New stuff on LEGO.com: Mindstorms redesign, Build updates —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Junkbot is a lot of fun! Nik and I spent several enjoyable hours. There are a number of good puzzles in it. It doesn't seem to be saving stats from one session to the next, though, is that WAD? (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Matthew Gerber
(...) Larry, I got word from Tomas a little while ago. The build of the game that made it to the site IS NOT saving. The beta builds did...hence the Hall of Fame scores. They will be fixing it next week. I played the game straight through late last (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Larry Pieniazek
In lugnet.lego.direct, Matthew Gerber writes: <release not saving> (...) Thanks for the word up on that. (...) That's bad! (well... good, I suppose) It means the game IS addictive. It sort of reminds me of Lode Runner a bit for those of you that (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Matthew Gerber
(...) No prob...I was all caffenated up anyway...it was either Junkbot or reading... Ah...Lode Runner...It also has a Lemmings aspect to it... (...) Heh, heh..."Run the Gauntlet" frustrated me for a while... The vast majority of them don't (...) Me (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Roger that. I am *almost* ready to take back all the mean things I've ever said about Shockwave. (1) I wish you could play it standalone though. (...) I'm even digging the music, it's pretty catchy. 1 - But please note that this game doesn't (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Matthew Gerber
(...) I was hoping for the same thing...no-go when I tried to download to Shockmachine... If Tomas doesn't catch it here, I'll mention it the next time I e-mail with him...I'm thinking a CD in the next Mania Magazine... Matt (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) That would be cool! I would be OK with it not saving high scores, etc when it was standalone, and requiring all scoring record attempts to be while connected (to prevent hacks). We were connected to the LEGO website for many hours yesterday, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) Tomas Clark
(...) The bug that was keeping players' progress from being saved has been fixed. Our apologies to all those who completed levels between Friday morning and Monday afternoon! (...) I believe there are only three levels -- mostly the one Matt (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Matthew Gerber
(...) Thanks again, Tomas! (...) *grrrr*...re-playing "Run The Gauntlet" right now for the save...*grrrr* (...) Yep...that's how I've been doing it...down to 32 moves now... (...) Yes, yes, YES! OH GAWD, YES! Ummm...please.... That would also make (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.gaming)

RE: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Doug Finney
(...) First off, let me say this game is totally awesome! With the save working I finally had time to play through to the end. I haven't figured the trick of a couple levels but still claimed Master Rank #7. :-) Yow, have to shave almost 70 to reach (...) (23 years ago, 15-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) What is your score? I suspect there's been some improvement in scores since then... Nik and I together (on my ID larrypieniazek) are at 526 total score for a rank of 31 as of this writing. The big area I can see to get a few more points off is (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —John Radtke
(...) I was sure that 354 must be a hack (no disparagement or accusation intended - just astonishment =O ) but I have managed 363 myself. I can't imagine where to shave off nine more but neither could I imagine before it happened the 14 I shaved off (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.gaming)

Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Well I shaved a FEW more off but clearly have a loooong way to go. This game is great because (except for a few rooms like Running the Gauntlet and Junkbot Is Brave which I have complained about before as being all coordination and no skill) (...)            Re: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Matthew Gerber
(...) DamnitLarry...you've knocked me down to #23...*grrrr* I just keep shaving points, and shaving points...1 here, 2 there...and I still keep loosing ground (it all started with John knocking me down a couple of places, and it's been all downhill (...)            RE: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Doug Finney
(...) Biggest help to me on that screen was to think big. Instead of clearing a path a brick or two at a time, grab a whole pile, let Junkbot walk "through" them and put them back basically right were they were. For example, you should be able to (...)           RE: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Doug Finney
(...) Ah, and that would be you that's now down to 356. :) Congratulations! I think I'll need more than one long afternoon to shave off my next 14. Doug (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.gaming)

RE: Junkbot not saving progress (was: New stuff on LEGO.com...) —Doug Finney
(...) I was at about 420 when I wrote that but shaved that down to 384 which was good for 5th at the time but has now slipped to 6th. (...) I have no clue. My biggest gains naturally came on the two levels I hadn't earned the gold award on so (...) (23 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.gaming)

More Junkbot scoring inconsistencies?? —Martin Scragg
Can someone verify this for me. If you try it out, I suggest you pick an easy level to try it on. I was showing a friend how to get through some of the levels, without showing him the best way through, (got to let him think a little bit) and when I (...)         Re: More Junkbot scoring inconsistencies?? —John Radtke
(...) Yeah, that (level score raised) just happened to me too once on Tuesday I think it was. I wasn't about to try to repeat it on purpose - it definately isn't regular behavior though or it would happen to me a whole lot more than just the once. (...)
