So how many years ago did I coin the term SPUD
(single purpose useless decorative)?  I believe
it was directed at the large Pirate items, rowboats
in particular.

The Bionicle torsos have a gear assembly: turn a wheel
in the back, and the arms go up and down.

In my mind, I think of the Slizers as what I would have
liked the old Micronaut toys to have been: interchangable,
expandable, etc.  (Actually, I turned Blaster into a
reasonable looking Acroyear). I'm glad Bionicle is keeping
the same scale as the throwbots and adding more accessories
(claws, swords, etc).  It's like the generic action-figure
construction set.

Oh, and ZNAP works well to make buildings and things for
the slizers to run around on and shoot each other.

Oh, and I have the throwbot leg and hip joints modelled
in LDRAW (unofficially). LMK if you need them.

Todd, can we have a Technic->Slizers newsgroup added?

BTW, is there an agreed-upon catagory name that
covers Throwbots, Roboriders and Bionicle?
Could we call them collectively "Slizers"? (since
I think that is the coolest name to come out of TLG in a while).

I think the term you're looking for is: SPUDs

I built a helicopter out of parts from Amazon, Electro, Jet, and a few
assorted pins and axles.  (Okay, the rotors aren't Throwbots either, but at
any rate they're mounted on Amazon's central gear.)  And yes, it is more
than a Throwbot with rotors, it's a helicopter that happens to have a
Throwbot throwing arm in the tail to make it look less spindly.  I'd post an
image if I could, but I'm the guy with no scanner OR digital camera OR
anything similar in nature.  And of course there *wouldn't* be any LDraw
Throwbot parts...

Anyway, my point is, Throwbots aren't completely SPUD.  They're PATUI
(Pieces with About Three Uses Inventable).  First use: Throwbots.  Second
use: combine with Znap (I'm told this works well).  Third use: the
helicopter.  Yup, they're PATUIs.

Oh yeah, and the name Slizers works.
