I built a helicopter out of parts from Amazon, Electro, Jet, and a few
assorted pins and axles.  (Okay, the rotors aren't Throwbots either, but at
any rate they're mounted on Amazon's central gear.)  And yes, it is more
than a Throwbot with rotors, it's a helicopter that happens to have a
Throwbot throwing arm in the tail to make it look less spindly.  I'd post an
image if I could, but I'm the guy with no scanner OR digital camera OR
anything similar in nature.  And of course there *wouldn't* be any LDraw
Throwbot parts...

Anyway, my point is, Throwbots aren't completely SPUD.  They're PATUI
(Pieces with About Three Uses Inventable).  First use: Throwbots.  Second
use: combine with Znap (I'm told this works well).  Third use: the
helicopter.  Yup, they're PATUIs.

Oh yeah, and the name Slizers works.

That is so cool!  I have Jet and Amazon already, so I'll get Electro next to
try your suggestion.  Here's what I've done so far-

Jet- mechanized Velociraptor
Jet- mechanized Brachiosaurus
Amazon- mechanized Ostrich
Amazon- mechanized Anaconda
Jet + Amazon- mechanized Pegasus

I love Throwbots because the SPUD/PATUI elements inspire creativity to find
more uses, and they have gears and stuff. Plus, it says Ages 7-16 on the
box, and being 13 I have supposedly outgrown most of the other themes.  BTW,
are Flare and Spark good for parts?
PS. I'm the other guy with no scanner or digital camera.

(...) Hmm... I 'll see if I can manage some of those. I once got sort of a "bird" mode by slightly modifying Jet's carrying-case mode, and I've built Super Jet by adding parts from Granite, but the helicopter's the only really original thing I've (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
