Hey, Space stuff takes place on different planets...why can't Castle take

Why not consider Ninja a separate theme?

Well, Ninja *is* a separate theme from the classic castle sets, as well as
from Fright Knights, Dragon Masters, Royal Realm, Wolfpack, Forestmen, etc.
But all of those are part of something larger:  The LEGO SYSTEM Castle
product line, a.k.a. the LEGO Castle System.

Ninja is a sub-category of Castle (not classic castle, which is also a
subcategory of Castle) because of the positioning of the set numbers and
because of what's printed on the shipping cartons and because of what you
find on the official LEGO website if you dig deep enough.  :)
