Not considering the Harry Porter theme as a Castle theme, am I right to say
that Lego has not release any new Castle sub-theme since the King Leo and
Cedric the Bull sub-theme in 2000?

Lego hasn't released any full blown castle series since then, but two
individual sets the old Guarded Inn (rerelesed), and the new Blacksmith's
Shop are both availbale now. Not only are they among the best lego sets
available now, they are also among the best castle sets ever made. We
probably won't see another castle series until the HP stops, but hopefully
we will get another old castle set rereleased by Xmas. Either the Black
Falcon's Fortress, another great old favourite, or the Yellow castle.
Although there isn't an actual castle line in producton now, IMHO the
available sets are better for castle MOC building than 2 years ago when the
very juniorised King Leo/Cedric Bull line was in production.

thanks Magnus. Agree with you very much on the new Blacksmith's shop, it's
really good, a nice combination of the old Town theme components and the
castle components.  I've bought it also. And I like Hao-yang Wang's notes:
"Once assembled, this highly detailed, 622-piece set is surprisingly small.
Compared with 6091,the largest "official" castle set currently released by
Lego,3739 comes with more pieces at 4/9 of the $$!"  And that's why I still
haven't bought the King Leo's Castle as it costs US$110 in HK. I should have
bought the Old Guarded Inn.

Sorry, I am a new member of Lugnet, what do you meant by the terms: MOC,
MIHO, etc?

Ha, the Falcon's Fortress you mean 6074/ I have that one, bought in 1988
before my dark age. It was my first Lego castle, but I like my second one
6080 King's Castle more. Ha, I don't think Lego will re-release the Yellow
Castle coz it's too classic. I know a month ago an MISB Yellow Castle was
sold by US$700 in ebay.

Thanks for your reply again.

Jackie

P.S. Anyone can tell me on around which month Lego is going to has its
annual release?

I get the impression that different sets come at different points in the
year. Lots of the non castle sets have very good parts for castle building.

cheers

Magnus
