I have to disagree with your point here. I see the organization system
here as a blessing for critiques and discussion of work. In a normal forum,
say EZBoard, all of the comments just pile onto each other and half the time
the reader has to spend more time figuring out the structure of replies than
actually reading them.
Here on LUGNET, replies are automatically threaded and discussions stay
much more... sane, I guess, than most other online boards. A poster can
focus on the topic at hand (say, the way a certain detail works or doesn't
work in a model) within the discussion without hijacking the thread. Yeah,
that can lead to people replying to just one post, but that's kind of the idea.
I guess I don't see where your problem with LUGNET's structure comes from.
Care to elaborate?
