IRL name and logo plates are often welded onto the rib bulges so "appear" to stick out. However they don't actually do so due to clearance reasons. If you're not going to be stacking your sebulba container next to other containers and not going to (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

I made some 6 wide trailers way back when I was first playing with train LEGO. But since then I have been mostly 4 wide. Not because it's right. It isn't. IRL trailers and boxcars are almost exactly the same width, (10' 6" I think) and 6 wide (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

I'm personally still planning on building a 747-400 to MF scale... I've figured out the dimentions (6' X 5') and while i'm not anywhere near close to starting.... i'm finding that the windows (!!) and 500 chairs will be hard to come by :) especially (...) Larry, I thought you were a six wide truck guy? I guess I was thinking of someone else. I have been wondering the same thing; should I make containers 4 wide or six wide. 4 wide means I am ok with the old style containers and I can continue using (...) Way back when, I discovered this use for these parts after I'd accidentally broken a few. Even as I kid, I was too perfectionist to intentionally break my toys. Consequently I never had enough to do much with. A few years later, Tyco block sets had (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.build)

I've had the luck of being allowed access to the Local Harbors here thru a few nice Steveadores (Wish I had their jobs thought. They pay good money.) and I've learned that Containers come in all shapes and sizes. I have nearly 200+ Reference Photos (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Oh man, why didn't TLG do all their containers the same as 1651?? The Ccolor Line and Maersk newer promo sets use 4x12 containers. They're plug compatible, at least sort of. I use a 2x2 tile every 4 studs so a 4x8 has 2 and a 4x12 has 3. Most of the (...) (25 years ago, 13-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

Don't feel too bad; my Father once built outta my legos (as a kid) a big-ass (can I say ass on here?) plane that almost looked like one of those cargo planes with propellers. I was planning to build a realistic minifig scale Jumbo 747, then I figured out the dimensions of it, consequently I quit the whole project, because: A: It would be near 30 studs wide(God knows what that would be with the wings!) (...) Have you considered taking Lego string out of convenient unused winches? I've found that in general, clamping the end of a string between bricks is as good a hold as the little 1x1 round ends. At first, I had designed those pods as engines, but a friend of mine said they looked like heavy LRM pods, and I thought it was a good suggestion, so I guess they're missiles now. :^) I would have liked to make the legs better-looking, (...) Hi everyone, I have finally created a small webpage for a few photos of some MOCs. Right now, everything is Mecha-based, but one of my mecha is built from Star Wars sets (which explains the post to .starwars). I plan to photo some of my spacecraft (...) In case you don't know what piece I'm talking about, it's the one shown here: (URL) when I was younger, I remember "breaking" off the round clip part and use it to join two pieces "back to back" (or "socket to socket"). I'm sure that would come in (...) (25 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.build)

Hey: There is a blue hinged piece that I have noticed in both 6044 and 6055 that is a 1x6 plate and has 3 fingers in the middle of it on one side and two fingers on the other side of it. This is the plate that runs from one horse to the other in (...) (25 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.build)
