I am not a big fan of Lego pneumatics either, but they are so light weight and a perfect solution in your application. The micromotors have so little power, that you would have to gear them down to get any holding power for your grippers. Then (...) Hey David, thanks for the link. It might be a while till I get around to it but I think that a Lego Avro Arrow is a distinct possibility. I have just completed an ABS-version of Bryce F-14. Bryce kindly provided me with the dat-file. Pictures of this impressive model are in my non-digital camera and will hopefully be on brickshelf by the end of next week. Bryce F-14 is really a (...) Hey Dave, thanks for your comments. The F-14 is my single favorite airplane and I spent more time and effort on that MOC than on any other, so I'm glad that it shows. Thanks for your comments Magnus. You are absoultely right about the A-4 and the F-4. Both are good looking aircraft and both are models that I have planned out to a pretty good extent. Bryce, awesome stuff, I didn't realise you had added so many recently! I used to build a fair ammount of warplanes, although they usually weren't modelled n specific real life ones, and know how hard it can be to get them just right. I am quite (...) Rob, I streched what I had, plus the 1/4 Oval Technic beam plates are only avail. in Dark Grey. (The ones I use in the upper Legs)(Thanks Tobbe) I got them in the Destroyer Droid set (and x2 from Brian Sad!). So adding Dark Grey to the overall Bot (...) My thinking here is that there is a polynomial or even exponential time function at work with large sets. The more parts a set has, the greater the fraction of total build time is spent looking for a particular part. The way to decrease that (...) Hey Kepplah, The only differnces are external. They are the same design thru-out. Really the only differences are in what I could come up with to complete each color. Which is a good thing because it gives the series simularity while each LB is (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Travis mentioned the best set for the price regarding these parts. Other sets that are good for the ball socket part: C3PO (has 5), Stormtrooper (4), all other Toa except Pohatu and Onua (1). I'm on the brink of stringing up my full-sized, playable LEGO harpsichord. But for fun, I made a miniature "mock-up" version (out of LEGO, of course) of what the final instrument will eventually look like: (URL) slightly bigger than Miniland scale, (...) Star Wars Sets! Life on Mars too! Lot's of Click-Hindges in thoses themes. A good place to start when building Joints like, arms and Legs. Plus get Technic sets as well. Then buy some creator sets.
