A small contingent of folks expressed interest in moving BrickFest to
Indianapolis next year due to its several positive factors:

- It is closer to the many AFOLs who don't live on or near the east coast.
- It is cheaper to get a hotel room than in the Washington D.C. area
- More imporantly, it is cheaper than another centrally located city, Chicago.
- It has a large convention center, and BrickFest was already too big for the
Sheraton Premiere this year

I'm not speaking for anyone on the BrickFest staff -- I'd just like to know if
anyone else thinks BrickFest needs to stay in the D.C. area, if a cheaper place
to stay is helpful, if some other location is closer to where you live, etc.

(...) Jordan, I do not mean to speak for Christina or the BrickFest 2007 Staff but I do have a few comments: Other venues outside of Washington will be explored. Many fans have brought up the fact that a centralized location could cut down driving (...) (18 years ago, 12-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) I would like to suggest that we think about the entire country. I live in Utah and have to fly to Brickfest. If would be great if the hosting city was either a direct flight from most states or a major hub. IE - Dallas, Chicago, Washington DC, (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) If you travel to BrickFest by airplane, Washington D.C. is a very good destination. Fares are generally cheaper to D.C. than to other cities. They certainly are cheaper from California to D.C. than to New York or Boston or even Indianapolis. (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) Oh, I so hope the discussion can be, "in addition to Washington", instead of "instead of Washington". I've attended BrickFest with my son, 8 years old, as a member of the public for the last 3 years. I think you should not underestimate the (...)   Re: BrickFest 2007 location

I'd love to see Brickfest move to a central location, but be careful before you decide to become a traveling show. Conventions like Origins in the gaming world have historically performed unpredictably from year to year depending on the venue, while (...) (18 years ago, 16-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) How about Minneapolis? There are A LOT of LEGO® Fans here AND there is of course the Mall of America LEGO® Store as well as some other cost effective methods of staying, etc... :) Sincerely, Brian (18 years ago, 3-Oct-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
