I like the Minneapolis option.  Prices are cheap here in the Midwest and there
are plenty of direct flights for those that don't want to sit (BTW, if you're a
COA or DAL Freq Flier, you earn miles on NWA), not to mention, NWA serves MSP
from NRT (Tokyo Narita), AMS (Amsterdam, NL), and LGW (London Gatwick) for
international destinations.

Plus, the Mall of America (BTW, free transportation to Mall of America from MSP)
including the LEGO store would definately make a great "side trip" for those
wanting to get away from the venue for awhile.
