I have well over 100 1x16 beams. It's not enough. For an example
of a project that used a lot, go to brickbots.com and look at my
entry for the "cross an open gap" competetion.

Although this didn't use anything like all my large beams, I
usually have more than one project on the go at any given time.
By the time the gap-crossing robot was finished, my available
stocks of 1x16, 1x14 and 1x12 bricks were all down to 0.
Actually, of course, the main reason for being dissatisfied
with the quantity of beams is just that they've stopped
appearing in current sets and are therefore getting harder to
obtain. <***HELLO - WAKE UP TLC: BRING BACK BEAMS IN SETS. AND
WE DON'T NEED ANY MORE CORRUGATED TUBES, THANK YOU***>. Ahem.
