Indeed it was...  While the Outrider did not make an apearance in the original
trilogy, the design impressed George Lucas so much that it was added to the
Special Edition version of ANH.  It can be seen taking off from Mos Eisley as
Luke's Landspeeder is approaching.  Also added was the Swoop Bike.

On the other hand, I don't think either of those leap to a kids mind as
"what kind of toy should I get".  Look instead for vehicles that played
an actual role in the films...

We can still hope for an Imperial Year (but I wouldn't place any money on
it).  TIE fighter, AT-ST, Probe Droid (with Hoth Han and Chewie,
maybe?), Imperial Shuttle...we can hope anyway.

J, wondering why everyone complains about no Stormtroopers, but nobody
complains about no Nemodians from Ep1? 8)

From what I understand the Shadows of the Empire line from Kenner actually sold fairly well... not as well as the rest of the SW line mind you, but still pretty well. An Imperial year would be nice... there are so many cool Imperial ships we haven't (...) (24 years ago, 7-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Definitely a good point. That's why I doubt a $50 Imperial Shuttle will be produced. It's not recognizable enough to warrant such a high price tag. This is a guess, but I think it's recognition would be comparable to that of the A-wing or (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jun-00, to lugnet.starwars)
