Anyway, here's what I think is up:  Palpatine/Sidious is doing all of this
purposefully to bring balance to the Force.  Think about it:  The Jedi are

Certainly. At the end of Episode 1, they tell us: There's always only two
Sith, one master, one apprentice.

We've seen piles o' Jedi. But there's only two Sith.

Fast forward through Episode III to Episode IV: There are now exactly two
Jedi, Yoda (who we'll see in Ep V) and Obi Wan.

Sounds like balance to me...

Alright, I just saw Episode II. I'm sure that will be a shock to some people. I plan to make up for it by seeing it again tomorrow night. Anyway, in the course of watching the movie I think I might have figured out The Big One. I mean, the great big (...) (22 years ago, 21-May-02, to lugnet.starwars)
