That isn't a good rationale for voting no. That's like saying "no" to
allowing pneumatics because you don't have them.
What is the underlying issue? What I perceive the problem is what to do
with the dangling wires that are attatched to the 'bot? If the 'bot is
stationary, or the only thing it will do is drive up to the "rice pit" from
the exterior wall, then I don't think the wires should be too much of an issue
unless the opponent is using a "steal the blocks from your neighbour approach".
Then the wires might get in the wire.
But then that approach shouldn't be used, because 90% of the entries will
most likely hold the blocks within the 'bot because anything in the 'bot
will count unless the 'bot is in the pit.
So, in my opinion, which doesn't really count, BTW, is that there should be
external power for the entry, ONLY if the 'bot is stationary. If the 'bot
is designed to move around (roving, etc) then no external power!!!

| (...) To my mind, it's a perfectly good reason for saying no. Let's turn the tables and suppose allowing AC was the norm. I come along and requested that AC *not* be allowed because I can only use batteries. The response would likely have been along (...) (21 years ago, 26-Aug-03, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
