P.S. You know what’s kinda funny?
The way Calum and Chris M. totally hang their heads in shame
when things like this get outta hand.
I can see them going;
‘Oh god, there goes Iian… and great, Richard’s gone all ‘Defender of
Free-Speech’ on us.        This is sure to make us look bad!”      8)

Sorry, Richard.

I cant speak for Calum.  I can speak for me.  I personally was not going
to wade into this BUT you did bring up my name.

I was not/ am not hanging my head in shame.  What happened, happened.
It was unfortunate that Iain, did not realize that you had cross posted
that walmart message to .General  For what its worth, I did not see the
cross post until Tim waltzed into the fray.

Once things leave the comfort and safety of RTLToronto, who's to guess
what people will do or say.  We "get away" with a lot of stuff here.

Whatever people say or do here is the responsibility of those people.  I
would only get concerned if  (god forbid) someone said something that
got themselves "banned" from lugnet.   Then  that would be a loss for us
all.

As an aside,   I wonder if there would be some way to warn of a cross
post. and i don't mean in the message by the crosser.  What if the
lugnet software was "smart" enuff to add a tag line to your confirmation
e-mail saying this will be posted in the following groups?

Yes I know that some people post via the web, I'm sure something could
be added there as well.

Chris
lets get back to trains and robots.

(...) Because of the web interface, what you or anyone else say in "your" NG is hardly private. Many if not most view any post no matter which NG it's in. You may think you "get away" with stuff, but that's only an illusion. -John (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) That’s –EXACTLY- how I felt! Why’d Tim have to ‘Five-O’ u on such a minor statement? He could of just ignored it and let it pass.
