Hey! I love that music, and all the sound effects, and all the voice actors! I
have replayed them daily for .. um .. 26 years! Scary, huh? (plays Sting sound
effect - oops, Time Warner deleted that from the movies.)
Actually Elrond is a bit of a dork in Rankin-Bass - he has that levitating band
of stars on his head.
Time-Warner has, of couse, been a very unfaithful guardian, may the cats of
Queen Beruthiel rip their eyes out, because they have released these videos
with mangled sound tracks for the past several years. (P.S. the record albums
have additional verses not used in the movies.)
Speaking of songs, would you rather suffer through more Peter Jackson singing?
There was a reason the poetry was deleted from Fellowship... Now imagine John
Rhys-Davies singing his Treebeard songs. Imagine one of those interminable
12-hour operas that only get staged once.
