My question is:  Can Harry Browne get one million votes that he wants this
year?  And will that be enough to propel the LP forward to progressively
better positions in 2004 or 2008?

Yes, he'll get 1M votes. Keep in mind that in years w/o a hi-profile
3rd party candidate, such as Nader or Perot the Libertarians always place
3rd in the national election, and in years with those types of candidates
they always place 4th. I havent, over the last 3 presidential elections,
seen any relative change in the LP numbers.

In any case, I've decided that I'm not comfortable wasting my vote on Bush
or Gore -- and that a vote for Browne, although on the surface seeming wasted,
is actually an investment -- if the LP can keep the momentum building.

'Wasting your vote' Think about that for a minute:

1. Bush has sniffed too many organic solvents during his formative years
and is really not cognant--so theres a wasted vote.

2. Gore may be the anti-christ, so obviously thats a wasted vote.

3. Nader's anti NAFTA thing could, in my mind. lead to huge tarriffs on
imported Danish toys (my favorite kind), your vote--wasted

4. That leaves Browne as the only rational choice, clearly a valublely
cast vote. Congratulations, not matter what problems caused by our next
president you will go to sleep each night knowing that you voted your
conscience.

The last time I voted non-libertarian for president was Ronald Reagan.
Both me and my wife will vote LP this year as well.

Late last night on C-Span they re-ran a Harry Browne rally from November 1. I thought he did a good job of introducing the LP philosophy and I think a lot of people would hear his message loud and clear if he could get any decent normal TV spots or (...)
