"I Voted" sticker - NO
I had headed out to the polls feeling kinda disenfranchised-- no one ever
pleaded my case in the past although all I ever remember using is the punch
cards. How come no one ever challenged the system before on my behalf? Not to
mention it's a fifteen mile round trip to my polling place, a garage of one of
the local ranchers. I would imagine there are some who would consider that a
hardship-- there are no gas stations, nothing but hills and creeks and orchards
and a lake on the way. So I was feeling a bit down when I went in and the clerk
looked me up on the roster. When I told him I'm Green-- probably the only one--
he said our precinct is 10% Green! Something like double the state average! I
had assumed because most of my neighbors are older folks with lots of land that
they must be Republican! (Or maybe Libertarian.) Halleleujah! I don't feel
quite so alone anymore! :-)
