It matters a great deal to the Iraqi people. “Death of the kids”? Or how about “death of the murderous, sadistic thugs”? Look how pathetically partisan you’ve become-- criticizing the deaths of 2 pieces of human excrement. Sad, really. I suppose you will light a candle when we hand over SH’s head on a platter to the Iraqi people...

From: http://edition.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/07/23/sprj.irq.sons.intl/index.html

“He did not identify the other two who were killed. U.S. officials said Tuesday that one appeared to be a bodyguard, the other a teenager who may have been Qusay’s son.”

I wonder if the kid died trying to cover his father, is spite of all.

Not to sound pithy or anything much like that, but it’s only the idiots and morons that don’t learn from history--violence begets violence.

Not pithy; how about “trite”? What lessons did you learn from WWII, Dave? (Dirty little secret Dave: war is sometimes GOOD).

Not really, IMO. War can be the lesser evil - it can never be good.

What would you have called the situation previously with the brutal SH in power? It was a mess to begin with.

Not really disagreeing with you here, John. The situation was not good indeed. Now, after nearly six months, the situation has changed from autocracy into anarchy - which is no better in the eyes of many. You do realize that there is anarchy in Iraq, don’t you? That the Coalition troops stationed there are not so much maintaining peace among iraquis as they are trying to protect themselves?

When the threat of war was still just that,a threat, I kept wondering what would come after it, and now I know. Someone never learned the lesson from Sicily in 1943... or perhaps they did, and all this is deliberate?
