Well, I did say "is rapidly getting pointless" not "is pointless" or
"has been pointless". I think we have reached the point where everyone
is starting to repeat themselves by repeating themselves.
The only way out of the impasse at this point I think is for people to
take the time to think about the questions the others have asked. I know
for our part, we are basically asking "what can we really expect a
soldier to consider when faced with a stressefull combat situation where
people are dying". Pedro is asking "what could the soldiers do
differently to further minimize the risk of non-combatant casualties" (I
hope he acknowledges that we really are trying to take care [if we
weren't, there would not have been ANY US casualties from car bombs
crashing into checkpoints, we would also have done a heck of a lot more
bombing before rolling the troops in <like we did in '91>]).
