It has most likely been mentioned here before, but I'm too lazy to read thru
all messages in this thread.
NATO was made to stop Soviet Communism to take over the whole planet. That
was a good thing, very easy to unite to. Now that the Soviet empire has
vanished, Berlin Wall is gone and the only way to revive the Communist beast
is to let let global Capitalism grow uncontrolled until it people get sick
enough of it - now NATO is struggling to find a new identity, a new reason
to keep existing.
The Iraq problem is delicate, it's not that easy to tell the good guys from
the bad this time.
