In lugnet.off-topic.debate, Scott Arthur writes:

The problem with your system is the huge inequalities in your country.
Political power is bought and sold like cheese at a cheesemongers.

Money is a form of power.  You have more money, you have more power.  I'm
not talking about the United States, mind you, I'm talking about the world
at large throughout history.  I'll grant you it's pretty blatant here.

People keep guns to protect themselves from their *own* government.

No, that's not really accurate - it's so they can re-establish their own
government if the current government thinks it rules of its own accord
rather than with the consent of the governed.

Your healthcare
system is derided across the developed world. These are all caricatures I
know, but these are very real criticism of your "system". They are the
reason that I would feel less free in the USA.

Lindsay answered about the health care system in Europe in general, so I'll
ask instead if all your notes above mean you less *free* or less *secure*?
I can see reasons for claiming the latter, but not the former.

I feel no need to carry any sort of weapon. I feel no need to have a
contingency plan to deal with an armed intruder in my own home. I feel no
need to teach my kids "respect" for guns. What about those freedoms Richard?
Does the US system allow you them?

Bluntly put, these aren't "freedoms".  Enumerating them as such is diluting
the concept.
