One problem with switching providers is that many web hosting companies
offer the best deals if you pre-pay for an extended period of time - and I
think Dan did this.
Another is Brickbay requires IIS and Active Server Pages. I looked into web
hosting companies that provide both IIS and SQL Server databases - they're
nowehere near as numerous as companies using some flavor of Unix and Apache
- and also nowhere near as affordable.
The licensing for SQL Server over the net is tremendously expensive - and
that cost gets passed onto customers.

| No, it doesn't always die on weekends. But it has been seriously messed up since around sometime last Friday. Dan has stated in other threads that this was due to his service provider resetting all of the permissions on the server for some reason, (...) (24 years ago, 18-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
