Name: Robert McLean.
Gender: Male.
Year of Birth: 1976.
Mental Age/Status of Inner Child: still think I am 20 / really aged 13-15.
Location: Hazelbrook in Blue Mountains, Sydney.
E-mail Address: grandmoffmclean@yahoo.com
LEGO/home page URL(s): http://www.ozbricks.net/grandmoffmclean but my FTP
evaluation has expired...
So also check here http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/mclean/
And here http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=McLean
Marital Status: Happily Married (my wife is reading over my shoulder).
Children: two, more later...
Occupation: Student, completing BA 2002, DipEd 2003 - HighSchool Teacher
On Lugnet Since: first post September 2002
# of Sets in LEGO Collection: Lots. Retained my Lego from childhood, so lots
of ClassicSpace. Have been given collections from friends who are no longer
users, so more Space and Town. Collected all the Star Wars Classic Trilogy,
so more space. Have plenty of technic too.
# of Unopened Sets in Collection: One at the moment, 6781, but it is for
sale, find it at... http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=McLean
# of LEGO Pieces: with the way I have it sorted (and unsorted) I have around
100L.
# of LEGO Theme Parks Visited: Does Dave Ishak's garage count?
# of LEGO fests atteneded: August and October 2002 StudFests.
First LEGO Set: Not sure, but I do remember getting the RV with SpeedBoat
very early on.
LEGO Dark Age: There was no Dark Age, though through most of High School I
didn't buy any. This is probably because I had always received Lego as a
gift, then I was too old in other people's opinion. I guess it never
occurred to me to buy my own. But I never stopped using. (junkie metaphor is
deliberate)
First Set after Dark Age: Classic Star Wars Stuff, the day I saw a Vader's
face cartoon-style on Lego.com was the happiest day of my life (followed by
the birth of my children and wedding day in #2) the Xwing was my first adult
purchase.
Favorite Theme(s): Star Wars, Adventurers, Harry Potter, Castle, Technic
Favorite Set(s): Dark Side Developer Kit, one of the first Johnny Thunder -
it came with the tan 5wide car base, love it.
Favourite Own Creation: The Battle of Brickingrad, though not a singular
item it was a high moment.
Favorite Piece(s)/Minifigure(s): ClassicSpaceMen
Set/theme you would like to see: An Australian exclusive set (I agree with
James, and something very Australian in theme too) I might have said
something with Jabba the Hut, but it is coming, I always want an Imperial
Star Destroyer, but it seems that somebody has tapped into my brain and
siphoned my good ideas off to someone with the capital to implement it...
The Theme I would like to see- Ancient Romans - I have been pleased to see a
fair bit of talk amongst AFOL about this. The theme could quickly diversify
to include Carthaginians, Spaniards, gladiators, Celts, etc. Plenty of scope
for mixing history over a thousand years or so into a single theme...
I plan to have a BrickWar of it sooner or later, mostly by making red capes
for the Romans and using only red, white and yellow space men as uniforms,
and elephants for the Carthiginians with a motley crew of Celts and Spaniards.
Current LEGO Project: Sorting, getting ready for when Uni has finished for
the year. But i am also working on minifig scale town vehicles. I love the
ordinary in things - white vans, five door hatchbacks, family sedans and
stationwagons, small tippers with bobcats, large flattop trucks, pantechs,
semis etc
Greatest Claim to LEGO Fame: preventing teenage cousins and friends from
entering the DarkAge.
Other (Non-LEGO) Interests: Emma my wife, Parenting, Reading, RPG games
(ADnD primarily, though like BrikWars we don't bother with rules too much
and I am introducing lego into it too), playing with teenagers,
Monopoly(tm), Risk(tm), reptiles
