Dudes and dudettes,

Mittagong RSL remembers us fondly from 18 months ago, and would be only too
pleased to host us again, in the same auspicious room (which is nice of
them) and under the same arrangement (10.00am to 9.00pm)

So,

What:  Studfest XV
       The Medieval Gathering
the High Jinks in the Highlands
(plastic bricks of all kinds colours and species welcome)
       (children also welcome)
       :-)
Where: Mittagong RSL
       http://www.mittagongrsl.com.au/
The Mineral Springs Room (same room as before)
When:  Sunday 11 August (That's this Sunday dudes...)
       From: 12.00pm (ish - I'll be there from 10.00am)
To:    6.00pm (ish or whenever we've had enough)

Themes:
MOCs of all kinds always welcome.  Theme to prepare for - the Medieval
Highlands Gathering - bring your medieval rabble, seige equipment and worthy
story, and we'll test the use of BrikWars on big armies.  Hopefully James
will invent attractive ways to handle this with New Math.  Early cannon
aren't just ok - they're fabulous.  And if Kevin brings even half his grand
armee, we'll be able to re-enact a Medieval Battle of Waterloo.

Food and Accoutrements:
We're in a licenced club that's family friendly.  Food is good and cheap.
Drinks are cheapish too. And if you're really not feeling up to a knife and
fork, there's a McDonalds next door.

Shopping:
Dismal compared to Sydney.  For those coming from Sydney, there is a TRU at
Liverpool Westfields, a Big W at Macarthur Square in Campbelltown, and a
Kmart and Target at the other mall actually in Campbelltown centre.  For
those coming from elsewhere, whop before you leave your area :-)

Also:
Port Block tours available at the end of the day for those who have not
taken the trip.

And there's a nice model (non-brick) trains display place in Mittagong for
those so inclined -
http://www.highlandsnsw.com.au/entertainment/forkids.html#exhibit

Cost:
Travel.  Train is cheap (to Mittagong, takes about 2 hours from Central),
and I'm sure we can arrange to pick people up.  Call me on 0418 259 080.
Car is less cheap.  Airplane is just extravagant.  Venue is free, the tab
having been picked up by the Port Block Yards Business Development Authority.

To register:
Turn up.  It'd be nice if you told me you were coming, but I'll be entirely
happy just to see you on the day.

Richard
Still baldly going...

(...) Some suggestions. (where possible) 1/ If you have a bunch of guys all armed/dressed/looking the same, give them a largish plate to stand on together (i.e. form guys up into units) 2/ Make seige weapons that "fire" 3/ Have a good idea about the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Aug-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) I should be there, all being well, possibly with less LEGO and less family in tow than originally planned, though. And the new frigate hasn't visited the sailmaker yet, so she looks a bit plain... Cheers Richie Dulin (22 years ago, 10-Aug-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Thanks for organising this. Captain Legeaux will have his new ship, the Eponine, a 24 gun light frigate out for its maiden voyage. Port Bloc will be a fitting destination. (...) I've started mustering the troops... early cannon are allowed, (...) (22 years ago, 4-Aug-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
