Did anyone managed to get a Millenium Falcon? I tried at various K-marts (as
they had it in their catalogue) and was told 'they had sold out' - though my
suspicion is that was staff speak for 'I have no idea what you are talking about
about, but as they are not on the shelf we must have sold them all'. Was also
told 'more stock coming soon, may be some in there'. Also tried the raincheck,
but was told they could not by rainchecked. Just curious whether any of them
actually arrived in Brisbane stores? If so I presume they vanished very quickly.

I was told that NO store in Australia had them before the sale - but most stores
were claiming sold-out (as to not have to give rainchecks) Northland (which told
me this) was giving rainchecks (they have to if its not in stock before the sale
- but listed in a catalog) - I went on the first day. I also managed to get
Airportwest to give me a raincheck (they refused - but I tried the line
Northland gave me - nil stock, and they bit (if its true or not I still don't
know)
Hearing here about K-marts slack raincheck policy I when back to Northland the
other day, raincheck in hand. (no stock on shelves) but they had some ready to
raincheck in layby (about 5) the lady their told me they had not been done yet
due to time (and most likly would NOT BE!). So post sale I have one MF on layby
(to xmas - they give it at the sale offered layby) at the sale price! Next
Airportwest!~

(...) My wife any myself braved one of these opening sales last year at a local K-mart. Arriving 30 minutes before the store even opened and had to queue at the door to get in. The astute shoppers had already collected empty trolleys (some with (...) (20 years ago, 23-Jul-04, to lugnet.loc.au)
