Here is what S@H wants to know:

Do you like these concepts?
What do you like about them?
What do you not like about them?
What should S@H pursue and what should they throw out?
Is there anything specific that you'd like to see within the undefined
categories (amusement park rides=roller coaster)?

[Town]

* Everyday buildings on mini fig scale, e.g railway stations, businesses
to fit
train displays

These might be interesting but they would be low on my priority for
purchase.

* Bridges

These don't interest me that much. Bridges seem to be repition of the same
elements and shapes.

[World Buildings]

* Taj Mahal
* Sydney opera house
* Empire state building

I would not be that interested in any of the above. Again they don't have
much play or build value for me. It is a lot of repetition of the same
elements.

[Vehicles]

* Muscle cars, hot rods
* Ferrari e.g F40, F50, specific historical race represented
* Classic cars

The above appeals to me a lot especially if the models are very detailed
like working steering, suspension, gearbox, drivetrain, engine, etc. I would
definitely like to see more race car inspired models like Formula 1 cars,
Touring cars, etc. I like the mechanical details of Technic models but would
like the bodies to be like the 4402, 4403, and 4404 sets. Those had the
bodies that looked very close to the functioning real life counterparts.
Have bodies like that with fully working suspension, steering, drivetrain,
and engine and you have a winner. I know cost might be difficult but they
would be cool. If cost would be difficult make smaller scale real world race
car models.

I would prefer modern sports or race cars over hot rods. Some muscle cars
might be cool. Classic cars would not appeal to me.

I would also like to see Big Rigs. but I would take a cool sports car or
modern race car over the big rig. Here are some examples of cars I would
like to see:
Formula 1 car (any year from 60's to current), CART Indycar (any year from
60's to present), Le Mans race car (any year from 60's to present), any
Touring car (British or German series), any Rally car (any year from 80's to
current), or any cool sports car (any year from 60's to present).

For vehicles I also like the Creator sets where you can make several models
from the same set. That gives you so much more replay value for your money.
The model team type sets are also very cool though. I am not as big a fan of
the technic vehicle sets for their bodies but the mechanical detail is very
cool.

[Aircraft]

* Civil transport planes

* Classic planes from the early days of aviation

Similar to above I would love to see these. It would be really cool if the
various airline carriers could be licensed so you could build an American
Airlines MD-82 or a United Airlines Boeing 757. I would not be that big a
fan of the very early days of aviation but it would be cool if you had
models that scaled the history of flight from the early days to the present.
It would also be cool if these planes could have working parts similar to
the vehicles above. Working parts would be floding landing gear, movable
flaps, working doors, etc.

I would like to see a Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, MD-82, DC-9

I would also like to see Military oriented planes even more like a F-16,
F-18, F-22, F-14, etc. but I don't know if that goes against LEGO policy.

[Other Structures]

* Oil rig with functions
* Amusement park with functioning mechanical rides

I would need to understand the functions of the oil rif better. I like the
idea of Amusement park rides but it is still hard for me to tell if I would
actually purchase one. I do like the idea of a mechanically complex
structure. A fully working roller coaster might be very interesting. Beyond
a roller coaster there are not that many other amusement rides that would be
interesting to me.

In general for all of the above I look at the following when making a buying
decision:

(1) How cool is the set. Can it be played with? Does it really closely
resemble it's real life counterpart? Does it have a lot of functions like
steering on a car?
(2) Can you build different things out of the set? For example set 4404 was
awesome because you could make a pickup truck, motorcycle, or drag racer
from it.
(3) How expensive is the set? $75 is perfect, $100-$125 is starting to get
expensive, and $150 would be my limit.
(4) Are there any unique parts in this set that I cannot get in another set?
Sometimes I might buy a set just to get the cool unique parts in that set so
that I can build other things using those parts.

Best Regards,
John
