There seems to be some confusion lately about how to post a message
announcing a MOC. It was thought by many years ago that we should have a separate newsgroup for
announcing MOCs that is different from the regular lugnet.announce group.
We decided to go with that idea.
Therefore as you can see here
|
A new group/list for personal announcements of MOCs (my own creations)
has just been created, the purpose being to focus these types of
announcements and offload them out of the main lugnet.announce group,
which was never intended for announcements of MOCs.
|
|
Note: DO NOT post announcements of MOCs to the main lugnet.announce
group.
|
Please keep this in mind when posting messages about MOCs. Lately there
have been a lot of posts that are erroneously posted in the lugnet.announce
group when they should actually be in the lugnet.announce.moc group.
Thanks,
David

Im surprised anyone posts here anymore considering all the hassle involved
and the inevitable scolding when you get something wrong. This site is
about the furthest thing from user friendly I can imagine. I feel for
newbies stumbling upon the rusting hulk of LUGNET as there first contact
with the LEGO community.
Rant over, Im sure Ill now be chastised for not setting the FUT correctly

I like Lugnet. It fills a void in that the listings for the sets are easy to
use and link to other sites. It is a straight forward site without a lot of
the bells and whistles that make others rather difficult to use. The only
complaint is the forum which gets bogged down in technical issues and there
are a few users that like to set the agenda of what is said on Lugnet. Other
than that it is a perfect site for what I need. John P

I have to 2nd what John just said.
But there is one thing that really discourages me from posting here, say as
opposed to on Bricklink.
Often my posts are of such a detailed historic or obscure nature that I get no
replies to them. That in and of itself is not a big deal... but at least on
Bricklink I know that although no one has replied to my posts, the counter there
tells me that 138 folks have at least read my post.
Over here on LUGNET, I have no clue how many folks have read it, if at all, and
sometimes I feel as though theyre not being read at all.
That can be discouraging...

When I look on Bricklink and see the counter way up, I feel at least that it was
worthwhile to post the historic topic in the first place.
