  HELP identify a 2x4 plate, 1/2 thickness (not 1/3)
 
I found an unusual part while inventorying a recent eBay purchase of used LEGO. I found two identical elements that are blue 2x4 plates -- except when the two of them are connected, they equal the thickness of a regular brick. In other words, they (...) There are many aspects of the art of piece nomenclature that continue to escape me, but this one has me completely stumped. I just came across what I think is ``Technic Gearbox 2 x 4 x 7'' (URL) doing an inventory of set 6775. I cannot for the life (...) Matt, From your comment, I'm glad I threw those bricks away. Your description is correct, although my specks are always off-white, very small and highly scattered. (SORRY, NO PHOTOS AT THIS TIME!) I just received a box of vintage LEGO which I purchased on eBay. It is set 120, the Samsonite Gift Set from ca. 1971. As I was looking through my new <set:4704 Winged Keys> I immediately noticed that the Hogwarts' uniforms were different for the different characters. Tell me I'm not seeing things. . . I have in my hand a roughly 3 x 4 x 1 LtTrBlue windscreen from set 6392. I can quite clearly read the number as 4866. Partsref doesn't show this part, but it does show part 4688 (URL) is a dead ringer for the part (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

I picked up a tub of second hand parts today and was surprised to come across a piece that I've never seen before. The pieces (there were 4 of them) can best be described as a grey 2x4 technic brick. - Same size as a 2x4 brick. - 3 holes through the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

ok, here goes: Girder bricks are the bricks with the holes in them. (otherwise known as beams) Technic plates are the ones with the holes The technic flywheel is the small pulley with the 6 holes in it. The Technic up-gear is the crown wheel The 1x4 (...)
