Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) I don't know why anyone would give you a hard time about it. I use the figures for gaming - I just don't have the time to paint miniatures anymore - and my 10 year old also plays with them. But that's me. I also build - but I wouldn't need (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) I think the thing that bugs me most about them is that they have 3 different torso patterns, and a fourth on their shields. I would optimally like a faction to have the same single heraldic device on their shields and torsos. For this reason I (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) I think you raise a good point. I can easily see medieval army building as very addctive, but while I have 300 medieval figures or so, I have never really used them at the same time for anything. I have never really gotten into brickwars, and (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) Not substantial. . .I think 27 when my most recent BrickLink order comes in (although I might be distinctive for owning that many without actually owning a complete 677). For the record (I really did count them before this thread started, but (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) I have got 18 of these figs; 12 of which I have had since I opened the boxes about 1983 or so. I thought 18 was a lot. Guess I was wrong. My grand total of all Castle figs must be over 1,000 but I have never counted and I haven't lined them up (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) I am both embarrased and delighted to share that I have been secretly collecting an army of Knights Procession minifigs in hopes that no one has more than me. The grand total is somewhere around 300 (give or take 10). Collecting the shields to (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Motte and Bailey Notes

Hi all, I finally found a little time to look up a few things in my home library and return to the topic of Motte and Bailey Castles. About a month ago, a few questions about this came up as a few of you had considered building one of LEGO, perhaps (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) Just counted what I have (although an odd fig or two may have been misplaced in my spare piece boxes at the time)... I have modified color schemes and divided my Castle figs into factions to follow my own storyline, so I will include my (...) (23 years ago, 8-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) Hmm. You guys make me a tad jealous, but also appreciative of your efforts! My total mini-fig population during the 2000 Census was only 742, of which only 193 were Castle. Those numbers have gone up slightly since then, but certainly nowhere (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) He he he! My thought exactly! There's no way my husband of eight years would even think to buy that many sets for me. Of course he needs to buy me a bigger house right now to keep my current collection under one roof! ;) Tanya (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

ISCC: There are 157 entries with 1470 pictures - vote now!

Hello @ all! Do you remember? There was (there IS) the ISCC ;-) Over two thirds of the entries came short before New Years Day (deadline was Dec-31), so it took time until now to place all 157 entries. But now it's done and I wouldn't know what to (...)   Re: Dwarven women make beautiful lovers

(...) I just happened to read this in Tolkien's _Return_of_the_King_ Appendix A, III "Durin's Folk"... "It was said by Gimli that there are few dwarf-women, probably no more than a third of the whole people. They seldom walk abroad except at great (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Wolfpack army pics

(...) That is what I did too. I gave them regular black helms. but I changed their leg color to d. grey with black hips. My wolfpack army is rather small also, 18 members including 2 commanders. (URL) pic is alittle out of focus. John (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Wolfpack army pics

the freaky thing about this is the thought of so many archers with only one eye each. i mean, two eyes is supposed to give you depth perseption (sp). you have to wonder if that's part of joining process. "oh, would you like to be an archer? well, (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

My forces are quite humble compared to some of teh vast armies out there, but I've spent soem time organising them into factions and such. One thing I try to do with some factions is to make the guys all look a bit different, I think it is a little (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Wolfpack army pics

Wow! That's quite an army considering how few wolfpack sets they released. I have started creating my own WP "unit", but its less than 20 men at the present. I've given them all helmets, using them as an ordinary faction as opposed of a bunch of (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Wolfpack army pics

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) My numbers in any one theme are hurt by the fact that I'm into so many themes. It does sound like Jimmy may also have more Pirates/Imperials than me (he certainly has more Imperials). I now probably have 1300-1400 Pirates/Imperials/Islanders, (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Arrow Slits

An elegant solution -- no thick walls or SNOT required, just tiles and center-stud tiles. Plus, height is exactly 4 bricks. If a thick wall is used, more tiles and c-s tiles could be used to make unpaired slits. --Muze (...) plates (...) (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Help! I'm being overrun by minifigs!

(...) There is nothing quite like the pleasure of coming home with some new lego, cracking those boxes open, tearing open the plastic bags having at it. But $4,000 per week? Whew. (23 years ago, 7-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: See Me

(...) That's certainly one way to do it (that'll work right now!), but I was thinking of having a picture that actually displayed on the member profile page. And as others have said, it'd be cool to have a minifig picture, too! ROSCO (23 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.people.newbie, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: I have build my Blacksmith's shop

(...) Just a willingness to spend, spend, spend is all you need! :) Seriously, back in my hay days (5-6 years ago) I would spend upwards of $4,000 on Lego in a given week. I've slowed down a great deal since then though and just wait for sales and (...) (23 years ago, 6-Feb-02, to lugnet.castle)
