Interesting idea. Unfortunately either way fopen creates a file with no Mac
type or creator code at all.
Because I told the Finder once to open a .pov file with BBEdit, it knows to
do that for me. But I still get a blank icon because it has no type or
creator code.
I'm not the expert on this mess Apple got us into (obfuscating the
type/creator system that worked well up until now.)
Answering Chris' question - I manually put a type/creator code on my .pov
file so that POVRAY played nice with it. I'm on 10.1.5 so I don't have the
nasty open file bug.
