that is the coolest li'l mech i've ever seen it looks ez to build, and ezily replicatable i.e. one could have multiple copies of them post some instructions if you can plz the hinge/canopy connection on the nose is one of the most useful ideas i've (...) Woah, Gil's moving in build.mecha territory... I'm getting nervous... ;-) Dude, this little guy is awesome! I love how the legs flow so seamlessly into the rest of the body. Plus, it's compact form makes it ideal for transport and mass production. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit

Thank you sir! I'm glad you recognized the SM-388 in this as it was indeed an inspiration for it. Actually, I first had the thought to do this mech after I built the Bodkin fighter using the JSF canopy and 'miniboat hull' wedges. With a workable (...)   Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit

Thanks John! You nailed it with the notice of the oversized hips. I found I had to puff them out a bit to make up for the lack of upper appendages. Some of the design is inspired from the Zetradi mechs of Robotech Macross, smooshed together with (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Mnay thanks Stephen....the levers were an afterthought, but I liked how they looked. Originally there were hoses from the knees to the back of the thigh area, but it restricted the posability. I have to marvel at how those mecha guys get these (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Thank you sir. The legs were the jumping off point for this little guy....I had them sketched out before the rest. Must be an after effect of poking around in .mecha..... Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit

That's a nifty little Mech you built there. It reminds me of my SM-388 robot I built a while back only this is 10 times better. I like what you did with the hip joints. Looks very good. Good to see a moc show up under the a.c.e.r. banner. Jamie (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit

Very cool, Gil. The legs really work well with the cockpit- its hard to make an armless mech that looks right. The use of the dish and round brick design for the hips also is nice. You are the master of things that stick out! You really did the back (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)
