Hey Soren-

NICE job on these little works of art!  They are really awesome!  I
especially enjoyed looking over the HLM-2b and the K3A.  Mladen is gonna be
jealous that you whipped up a Sand green mecha first... :<)

Pshah, Mladen can deal. Wait 'til he sees what I did to his Pixie!

I just did!  Nice!

The Suzuki-HLM-2b is really nice, great overall shape, nice coloring, not
overloaded-with-weaps looking.  I just cant get over that SG+Tan coloring.

I should get another Yoda sculpture. It has tons of sand green plates.
Ohhhhhhhh, ok.  I have alot more cash than I used too, but still not enough
to get everything I want, like Yoda.

The Hyundai-K3A is a really mean looking machine.  I like the 'missile
racks'(that is what they are?) on the shoulders.  It looks sort of like the
Mauler from Battletech, no offense hopefully.

None taken. It was inspired by the manga Appleseed, but it came out a little
more angular. And yes, they are missile racks

Ahh, yes.  I know a *little* about appleseed, but not enough to have spotted
that.  What exactly do you use for inspiration?  Magazines, games, etc.?

I'm not surprised by the resemblance. I'm a big fan of SDF Macross, one of the
series that Battletech lifted designs from.

Same here!  Macross is really great.  I have been trying to convince myself
to buy sunyun's instructions for the Valks, but not yet...  I actually have
built right now 2 of the Macross-ripoff battlemech designs, the Wasp (not on
bshelf yet) and the Stinger.

The only thing I'd really recommend is to keep from using too many colors.
the K3A would look much better without the sand blue and tan pieces, imho.
But, alas, I know what it is like to have a smaller collection...

Actually, I have a pretty large collection, but I like the look of the tan and
sand blue. I just like to color-code ammo and weapons. It's nuts, but I can't
stop!

LOL!  Sand blue and Grey don't look bad, imho, but I thought it was a bit
funny also having tan, red, and yellow on there.  But don't let me stop ya,
anything goes!

Take care,

Soren

Ryan

(...) I know the feeling. I'm strapped for cash right now, in fact. My wallet's bleeding from the ISD, and I only paid half. (...) Hmm. My main sources are Hobby Japan and various websites. I also collect manga, so I had the Appleseed books at hand (...) (22 years ago, 2-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
