Hi there, Soren! I thought I'd toss in my $.02 since I'm the odd color lover
around here.... :)

This is a nice, compact design-looks quite a bit like what power armor
should look like. You threw me for a loop when I saw this because I couldn't
figure out how the head protection would flip down, but then I noticed there
isn't any head protection....hmmm. I'm not sure what I think about that
aspect of the landmate.
Color-wise, I like the use of tan to help draw the eye to the center of the
cl-04. The trans parts help fill in what would otherwise be a drab colored
mecha (not that that's bad...). All-in-all, I'd call this a successful design.

A bulky, mean looking mecha powersuit if there ever was one! Others have
commented that the sand blue doesn't fit well-don't listen to them. The sand
blue makes this model. That being said, the yellow has to go-it really takes
the attention away from a great design and focuses it on a checkerboard
pattern that's too bright for this mech. Great design!

Tan, sand green, and grey-nice color combo, but all of them are light
colors. I'd love to see this exact model with dark grey swapped in for the
light grey-that would stand out nicely and offset the sand green as well.
Aside from that, this was my favorite overall design.

red, tan, and black-a colorscheme I've liked since Mladen showed it to me
awhile back. I still love it here. I guess it has something to do with my
love of M-Tron and the whole black/red symmetry. sigh...
The head guard is one of the most unique designs I've seen in a long
time-great use fo the minifig arms. My only difficulty with this model is
the feet. They seem somehow lacking compared to the rest of the design.
Perhaps it's because the rest of the model stands out so well that the feet
seem much smaller than they need to be. I'm just not sure about that.
Overall, I love the landmate series. You've captured the essence of power
armor quite well and made some fantastic designs that will stand the test of
time. Keep this fantastic series going! I look forward to seeing something
with sand red soon....

| (...) I had a really hard time with that as well. In the end I decided that she could go without head protection. It's not as if she'll be fighting anyone! (...) Thank you! (...) Thanks! I was glad to find a use for all that sand blue. I'm of two (...) (22 years ago, 10-Feb-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
