  Warthog Mark II, Xerxes, and Yetrigar-3 new MOC Mechs

Hi Ashley, That's pretty cool. It's very hard to make a mecha with the limitations of the parts from only one set, and I think you've done a good job. Great Job, Ashley! I love alternate model ideas, especially mechs! it appears to be a functional model (articulation, etc) that also has quite a bit of style. Here's my first attempt ever at a Mecha. The name SIAM is derived from: Sith Infiltrator Alternate Model. I have never built a mecha before so I do not know if there are specific attributes that I was supposed to model. The model features Darth Maul (...) (...) Yes they work well. The double gives about the same mobility of the single with more support. The only pose a double won't give you is "cross" articulation: it wouldn't be able to hold a two handed sword, for example. At least not the way I'm (...) By the way, my Shocktroopers as well as all my other Vedraan droids technically speaking aren't mecha, but mecha sized robots- what I call a D.H.B.(Droid Host Body). The (...) Hi Jason. I like the Quirinus. It's what I would expect a "Classic Space" mecha to look like. ;^) I think the "tiger stark" has a nice torso design, but the arms and legs look a bit too proportionally small. In fact, this same part is present in the Bionicle sets. Look at the chest of Lewa, Kopaka, and Tahu, and the under-arm on Pohatu. I am really beginning to hate going to the Lego web site. They make finding things so tough if you don't want to use all the bells and whistles. At least the bulk order section has cleaned up. (...) alternating colors really helps make it look solid. Shoulder mounted guns are also a favorite of mine. This mech looks similar to the new shocktrooper, which is one of my all time favorite smaller mechs. It looks so mean with an evil (...) (...) Tony, I've been using two or three (and on my new mech four) together to make hip and shoulder joints that can hold 6-7 pounds. I use the "clip" sockets and not the flat feet type ones. (...) Agreed! Those are an interesting twist on click hinges. Take a close look at most of the models on any page and you'll see them. Hmm...looking at the pictures on FBTB, I was checking out the mecha for the new Mars theme(Marsbase, you'll note was here a looong time before. 8) ). if you want webspace, check out xoom (now nbci). They give plenty of webspace for free and they only require you to have the XOOMbar on your pages, there is no changes to the page (like with geoshitties et al). Neat ideas! We (Mark Sandlin. Pearson Castner, and I) have been working on Spaceworld on and off for awile now, and I guess we've been lazy... I had long thought about making a EGO site, but I was too impatoent w/ LDraw, and I never had a digital camera. Until now. So, i threw togather a site real (...) I actually love the idea. I've had a similar idea for awhile, but I since I don't have any lego sets (anymore), I don't really feel I have the right to suggest something that requires everyone else to put effort in. It stands up fairly well, though it may not look it. The only problem I've noticed isn't the stability of the feet, but the looseness of the TB ball-socket joints at the hips. (...) lot! Well if you really want to brush up on your animated mech history, check out a cartoon called Gigantor (Tetsujin 28go in Japan). What critera are used to determine if a robot is a mech or not? Does it have to be used for war? Does it have to be big? Does it have to be humanoid? Is a Throwbot a kind of mech (they are big compared to minifigs, they have battles, and most are (...) (24 years ago, 22-Oct-00, to lugnet.town, lugnet.build.mecha)

I have to admit, a friend came up with the design, but when he made it, it had yellow fences for the walls of the cargo bay (you can figure out the rest.
