Yes they work well. The double gives about the same mobility of the single
with more support. The only pose a double won't give you is "cross"
articulation: it wouldn't be able to hold a two handed sword, for example.
At least not the way I'm using them.

The arm supports itself easily at 4x3x10 long. Pistol type weapons and
things giving vertical weight (like swords) are also okay. It cannot support
rifles and things requiring a straight arm very well.
