  Focke-Wulf Fw-61

It has been a "mid-exam" productive weekend and the result is my version of the Focke Wulfe Autogyro Fw61. Like my earlier Kolibri I was hoping for a "as-near-as-damnit" representation. I am quite pleased with the result but, as always, welcome (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) I wish I had my references to hand, but here's what I'm given to understand from my background: "Mark" refers to the point in progressive development where a system or piece of equipment is "frozen"--sort of like the "high water mark" or the (...)   Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(...) It's short for "Mark" which is a term that's been used for at least 150 years in the military (and elsewhere?) to denote advances or upgrades. As to where it originates, I am not sure. Maybe something to do with marking progress? Definition 7C (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

(URL) Very cool. I'm impressed that you took the feedback you recieved and used it. Most people just wimper or get hostile. The model really looks great and benefited from the remake. I dig it. Help me out, though. Everyone throws this 'mk' stuff (...) (20 years ago, 30-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: New JE Moc: Shen Kai Powersuit

(...) The wrists are like that because I wanted the extra axis of rotation. Even so, I'll have the Blacktron Discipline Squads rough up my chief engineer a little for good measure.   Paladin mk2 Hardsuit

After going back to the drawing board, the engineers threw out the mid-twentieth century 'atomic' legs and designed a pair of anime-style mecha legs. The new legs provide 20% more ground speed, as well as enabling the Paladin hardsuit to leap to (...) (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Dornier Do 335 Pfeil

What happens when you spend less time on detail and more time on fun? Well, a stunted Pfeil for one thing! I was going for a Dornier Do 335 Pfeil (Arrow) and I ended up with what looks more like a boxy Republic Thunderbolt. Oh, well. Maybe a (...)   Re: The Skrylitch - Technic Mecha

(...) Kudos, Eric. Skrylitch is beautiful! This thing really combines so many different techniques--technic construction, SNOT, lighting, and of course the pink magic wand tongue--it really shows how well you know the brick and its dimensions and (...)   Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) I really like the hybrid standard-leg/chicken-leg hybrid style. If only you had a tiny lego gyroscope that would allow the mech to balance on just the brown wedge points. Eric, are you listening... (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Well, this is definately one of the better gundam models i have seen. I really like torso and all the crazy angles you included in it, as well as the beautiful studless design.   Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) DEFINATELY! yeah, that was a painstaking part of putting the mech together, keeping it stood up. Usually when i build my mecha i try and stand them up as i build to gauge the proportions and stuff, but it is hard to balance a mecha with barely (...)   Re: New Mecha and new weapons for a previous mecha!

(...) Yeah, it was my favorite as well, glad you enjoyed it! (...) Oddly enough i have been trying to use some of those brown wedges for ages, usually as swords or arms, i guess they work better as feet! And Many thanks for the kind remarks! (20 years ago, 29-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Gundam-K6

(...) Thanks Chris. I think the torso might look out of proportion because I took the pics at a downward angle. I'll have to get more pics up to give a better idea of the size. I guess a lot of proportion is just personal preference. -Brayton (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
