Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Thomas Avery
After a 15-year hiatus on space-themed MOCs, I've created a moonbase module: (URL) course I had to use a lot of Technic pieces and add motorization ;-) It has two lifts and a big door that are remotely controlled (using 4-channel R/C unit from (...)      (...) this is a great comeback. The detail makes me cry. ;_; I love the cube door, though... not sure why... (22 years ago, 21-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Thomas Avery
(...) The "cube" door was the result of a "DOH!". I built the platform and its legs first, and when I started building the lower facility next, I realized I didn't have a lot of room. I had decided on 3 corridor connections, with the main elevator (...) (22 years ago, 21-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Bruce Hietbrink
(...) That was an awfully fortuitous "DOH!", as your solution is really cool. For some reason my favorite little build detail is the little stairwell running from the flight control room (?) up to the flight deck itself. It just looks perfect. The (...)         Re: Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Mark Sandlin

Re: Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Thomas Avery
(...) Yes, I caught myself "whooshing" them around the room. I stopped, felt foolish, then realized only my cats were watching. I continued whooshing... :-) I love the blue/gray/trans-yellow color style of Classic Space. The best part is the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Soren Roberts
Beautiful! I really dig your trusses, very industrial. And of course the cube door is utterly brilliant, as are the lifts. I agree the internal detail i a bit sparse, but the amazing exterior more than makes up for it. Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 21-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)

         Re: New Fad? —Paul Baulch
(...) Actually, I'd like it to be taken further into a Moonbase-related standard, where the ships can't exceed a certain compact size, say 16 studs by 10 studs by 8 bricks high (for example).          Re: New Fad? —Paul Baulch

Re: Moonbase Module: The Landing Pad —Mike Petrucelli
That has got to be one of the coolest uses of technic parts in a mini-fig scale MOC I have seen. As others have said it gives the landing pad a very utilitarian design. Very cool. -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 22-Mar-03, to lugnet.space)
