In a recent (and active) thread entitled "This is irritating" in RTL, it's
been suggested that "Lugnet was designed for compartmentalised dorks" and
that "[it's] for the dorks who can't make up [their] own mind whether to
read a posting or not" and that I am "constantly telling people where they
can and can't post a message on the threat of being expelled"...

I personally happen to disagree with these opinions, but am concerned about
how such an impression could have formed, and whether other people share
that view.

Well, I've never been on RTL, but I've been lurking on lugnet for almost a
year, and I just started posting about a month ago, and I love it. I found out
so much info reading this site. When sets were coming out that I would have
missed, etc. I'd just like to say thanks to all you guys (gender unspecific)
on lugnet, and thanks Todd and Suzanne for keeping it real. I've never really
seen Todd get heavy handed with anyone, tho some of the lugnetters take care
of that for him!;) Also, I read from the main page lugnet.com, mostly, because
I'm on a PC all day and have the time to, and also because I've learned thinsg
that I wouldn't have if I just stuck to Starwars, which is mostly what I buy.
I guess tho, that Lugnet does give you the option to filter it down a bit if
you want to. I can't see how that could be bad. If you don't want it
compartmentalised, then read it all, like me.

Chris

(...) I agree. I usually try to browse all the way through each day's postings at the top level of the hierarchy to see what's going on.
