In a recent (and active) thread entitled "This is irritating" in RTL, it's
been suggested that "Lugnet was designed for compartmentalised dorks" and
that "[it's] for the dorks who can't make up [their] own mind whether to
read a posting or not" and that I am "constantly telling people where they
can and can't post a message on the threat of being expelled"...

I personally happen to disagree with these opinions, but am concerned about
how such an impression could have formed, and whether other people share
that view.

As an active Lugnet reader, I must disagree with the irritating thread.
LUGNET allows me to read only those messages that I want without wasting time
on insignificant irritating threads.  Keeping some sort of order in the jungle
of messages simply preserves our sanity.  As a matter of fact, I'd rather see
more "compartmentalization" in some groups, specifically marketplace.pieces
and marketplace.sets.

Perhaps you'll get a biased response from loyal LUGNET readers, but I would
challenge any die-hard RTLer to try LUGNET for a couple of weeks and then make
a more educated response.

Keep up the good work, Todd!

(...) It's interesting -- this particular person who posted those comments actually has been using the LUGNET groups for over a year and has posted more than 100 times.
